Yeast starter issue for Dead Ringer

OK. I doing a yeast starter for the dead ringer. Took my yeast out of the fridge and it was partially inflated, could not determine if I maanged to break the nutrient pack, which did feel like it was still intact and possibly sluchy feeling. I tried smacking it anyways. today it is fully swollen. I am worried about whether it was safe to use for my starter since it was partially inflated. It had only been in the fridge maybe 30 days. Bought the extract kit in earlier Jan all seemed fine when I put it in the fridge. I know if they partially inflate it can be a time sesitive issue or so I thought.

Partial inflation isn’t a problem. And you don’t have to break the nutrient pack, it’s just a “proofing” mechanism to show the buyer that the yeast is active, but not necessary for fermentation.
