Wyeast Kolsch?

Is this yeast slow to start? Made the 3 gal Kolsch…pitched at 1pm yesterday. 66 degrees when I pitched and over the night the wort temp has stabalized at 59 degrees. 0 sign of activity. The only reason Im nervous is cause when it was shipped this yeast got really cold/slushy. I spoke with NB and they assured me if i defrosted in the fridge and the pack swelled Id be OK.

I have some dry yeast I could pitch, but i dont want to be hasty or anything

Thanks

Yep, that one can be a slow starter. Give it time.

+1. It will be a very painful couple of days. But, worth it. Worst case scenario you can pitch again.

Also, be prepared to lager it for at least 6 weeks. Its a great kolsch yeast but can take awhile to settle out.

IME, that yeast never dropped crystal clear without using gelatin.
