Instead of using brun leger soft candi sugar in my saison i used clear belgian candi sugar.The receipe i used was northen brewers ginger snap saison,im wondering how much this is going to effect the flavor and the style of this beer.This is my first saison. Shirley
It will have some impact, but probably not a very big one. The clear candy sugar is indistinguishable from table sugar when used in a beer, while a lightly caramelized sugar will add some flavor as long as there aren’t too many competing flavor elements in the beer.
You will never notice IMHO. I use plain old cane sugar from the grocery in my Belgians. Have one fermenting right now. Unless using a lot of caramelized sugar there won’t be much flavor impact.
