WPL 810 San Francisco Lager yeast for an IPA?

I have a California Common in primary an am considering reusing the WLP 810 San Francisco Lager yeast cake for an IPA.

Does anyone have any insight or experience regarding whether or not this would work?

I’ve done it, or at least I have with the Wyeast Cali Lager yeast. Fermenting at higher temps will make it more ale-like, fermenting around 50 will make it cleaner and more lager-like. I think the yeast has a slight apricot and grape flavor, so you may want to select your hops to complement that.
