Anybody know what the wyeast equivalent of wlp 007 is? Don’t know why, I just prefer wyeast over white labs, maybe it’s because I have more familiarity with it.
WY1098 is supposedly the same thing.
Awesome. Would you use it or an arrogant bastard clone?? I know the common consesus is wlp007 based in te threads I read, so 1098 should be good?
Should be the same thing, but I always use WLP007.
Well, due to SEVERE and very rare limitations at my LHBS, I grabbed some 1272 Thames FTP
Wyeast, we’ll see how well it works. Brew day is tomorrow, so let’s hope it works out ok.
Cheers to all and to all a good brew!
I just read the book about Stone and in their home brew recipe section they call for 007 for most of the beers.
Here is a good resource I found awhile back for Stones beers.
Pretty sure the WYeast equivalent would be 1335 British Ale II.
The Surly Pro kits call for either WL 007 OR WYeast 1335.
I have used both for the Surly Furious clone and they are spot on.
If I was trying to do something similar to Stone I think I would be using the White Labs WLP090 San Diego Super Strain.
Good Luck

Very well may be. Just my 2 cents. 8)
