According to Mr. Malty these yeasts are the same. But what I’ve read lead me to believe they are not totally the same. Seems like people have no qualms using wlp005 but fear 1187 for it’s diacetyl bombs?
Anyone try both or have a preference? I had an old thumper once. I enjoyed the yeast character which got me interested in this yeast. Looking to do my next brew with it.
