I use a 100 micron filter going from secondary to the bottling bucket. I’m pretty sure that yeast will not be removed by the filter but I wanted to make sure. Any thoughts on this?
Yeast cells are typically in the 5-10 micron range. Should be no problem at all.
Sterile filter is defined as having a pore size <= 0.45 micron, 200 times finer than the one you are using. But that catches all bacteria as well.
Thanks for the reply. I only use the filter just in case I suck up any of the sediment while racking.
