Which is the better holiday brew?

I just think the bitterness and maltiness are perfectly balanced in this beer. Very assertively hopped (as expected from SN) but not over the top. Citrus and pine notes are well balanced as well. Too often I feel IPA’s go too far with the citrus or too far with the piney. This one seems to have both present but still not to either extreme.

Thanks, I’m chalking it up to the distributor then. When I had it, there wasn’t any citrus or pine - just bitter.

How much difference in the SNCA recipe does it make using hop pellets for boil additions as opposed to leaf/whole hops? I find leaf hops a pain to deal with.

None. Steve Dresler is a fan of whole hops more for philosophical than practical reasons as fa as I can tell. I prefer pellets and that’s what I use for this.
