Where to start with a "fall brew"?

I want to make something for Halloween/Thanksgiving but the wife isn’t a fan of pumpkin ales. I want to put things like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves into the beer to give it some good spice, but I’m not looking for IPA kind of spice. Does anyone know of any good recipes to look at for ideas on what type of malt i should use (gonna have to be extract), the best yeast, hops, etc?

thanks

I’m not planning it for any special day, but am strongly considering a maple brown ale with maybe a little brown sugar or treacle.

a brown sounds like a good place to start…any suggestions for spice additions??

What spices do you like in food?
