When to measure OG

I just want to clarify this. Should I take an OG after the wort has come to a boil or wait until the boil is over? I am thinking right before I add the yeast and mixed properly.

thanks,

Brent

After the boil is done and you’re cooled to pitching temperature. Remember to compensate for the wort temperature as most hydrometers are calibrated to 60 degrees.

You CAN take OG after you’ve pitched. It shouldn’t affect the reading as the hydrometer only measures sugars in the liquid.
