The fam is asking for suggestions for holiday gifts and they’ve suggested getting me a wort chiller. Any thoughts on how much this helps the brewing process? I keep thinking that a cooler with ice does the trick, but maybe reduction in hassle is worth it. If you use a wort chiller, what kind do you like (e.g. coil type, plate??)
I’ve got a 25’ 3/8" IC. I’m going to upgrade to a 70’ for larger batches. An immersion chiller is a great help. You can look at a plate chiller or counterflow, too. I’ve looked at those, but I’m going to stick with an immersion chiller. It’s personal preference, and depends on what your set up is.
