What’s Brewin’?

Sounds great, I think I remember that it’s a Citra predominant beer. … Love that beer but when it shows up down here, often it’s >3 months old.

Made a SNSYS today and collected and treated water for brew day tomorrow : Big Sur DIPA.

Boiled water yesterday… Time to rack off 8 gallons and brew… 234Rye will go onto my yeast cake… after I keg…

EDIT: I just went to collect my brewing water… it was still warm… I boiled 12 gallons of water… my TDS was the same as pre-boil… It leads me to conclude, it needs to be chilled for the effect to work… I’ll go get some distilled water for today, and keep monitoring my boiled water…
EDIT…again: gravity 1.042… Just about to rack onto my yeast cake… Freeze-mentor is at 54*F…

Gravity down to 1.012… temp at 58F… Later today I’ll unplug my freez-mentor… Plan my next lager… Perhaps too late for a MaiBock… But…

EDIT: 2 days later… 1.010 and temps at 63
F… I believe my new “tap side” parts will arrive later today… I’m gonna need a sample… see what condition this brew is in…

At your northern latitude, you would be excused for tapping a Maibock in June!

No bittering addition at all huh? hmmm…

Nope. Just flameout and dry hop. This is common with many NEIPAs. Supposedly this will end at 36 IBUs

Gearing up for a classic German Hefeweizen this weekend. Hopefully will get it done Friday morning.

Well brewing the Krutbier recipe out of BYO magazine. I subbed in Spelt instead of regular wheat and only used 8oz of beach smoed barley. Also did a double decoction. Even if this doesn’t come out to my liking its worth brewing for the aroma

Wow 90! Congrats to her!

How many IPAs can your Mom drink at this point? Mom my lost the taste for it about a year ago at 79.

Mom likes an occasional IPA but the IPA is for some of the guests. I’ll also brew up a German pilsner for her.

Just mashed in on Star Gazer Double IPA from BigBrewDay, just two weeks late. We’re heading to the lake to open it up for summer when kids out of school this afternoon, so wanted to get this in before we left. Seemed just about a perfect Friday for a PTO day anyway. Think I’ll go take my onewheel for a ride while I wait. :sunglasses:

:beers:
