What is that...? Aw

So I’m making a yeast starter for a dunkelweiss I’m brewing tommorrow. Everything goes fine, got it going on the stir plate. But when I’m cleanig up I hear something clank around in the pot I’m using to sanitize some things. What the…? Stirbar?

Sh*t! I accidently just grabbed one off the fridge instead of the one I had sanitized!

Somebody please tell me RDWHAHB…

You have me scared with your 1st sentence.

IMO, you need more than 1 day for a starter to have time to grow the yeast. Even with a stir plate.

Unless you are doing a small starter (2 cup) to just get the guys active and are going to pitch the whole thing at high krausen.

As for the unsanitized stir bar…

Well, 22 views and no comfort.

Evil eyes the starter

Oh, well. Maybe this will be my first “learning” beer.

I feel ya. I’ve read when high krausen shows it’s time to pitch, I usually see that within 12-18 hrs.

But yes, I usually don’t ever brew when I plan to anyway. Seems like I never get enough brew time.
