Water salt additions

Well I like to make the best beer with the ingredients that are readily available to me. The brew store I prefer to use carries briess and Avangard both good maltsters. I don’t trust the online calculators

I’ve used avangard german malts for years. Been very happy with them.

NB is about 1-1/2 hour drive south of me… Only problem… it’s in the concrete jungle… so I do have options about grists’… Ill have to make the journey. My yeast went awry and I have to brew… Sneezles61

I have no problems with Avangard either. I think maybe freshness would be more of an issue. I crush immediately before brewing although I measure out well in advance but keep everything in airtight storage. We do what we can to do

My LHBS is a pretty busy shop so I know it doesn’t sit around in there at all. I keep mine in airtight vittle vaults and crush before using as well.
