Useing expired yeast

I’m working on stepping up a starter from an expired white labs vial(expired 11/13). Should I rinse the yeast after a few steps to remove any dead cells, or will it be ok to pitch everything?

I would just cold crash and repitch. I don’t think you will get enough trub and need to “wash.”

Decant, of course, but rinsing or doing anything else is unecessary
