Has anyone tried this? I picked up a 750ml bottle for $5. I haven’t had a chance to try it, but at $5, I should probably stock up if it’s good.
I haven’t tried this years yet, but previous years have been drinkable. Not something I would stock up on.
I’ve had it in years past, and it’s been good but not great. At $5 for a caged belgian, I’d get a few and crack one open every few months when you want something special to share, but don’t want to “waste” that Westvleteren XII or 1994 Barleywine. As I recall, it’s brewed by Unibrou, and it tastes a bit like a spiced barleywine fermented with their house yeast (Fin du Monde, Trois Pistoles).
Finally got around to cracking it open last night. Good enough for $5. I can’t say I feel the urge to really stock up on it.
