I have heard that most new homebrewers including me tend to not pitch enough yeast. I am just curious is it possible to pitch to much yeast?
I am concerned because i plan to pitch right on top of a yeast cake and was wondering if there is a probablem with doing that?
Thanks
Jon

I have never pitched onto a yeast cake, but I do rinse my yeast for use again in the same week or a few months. This link will give you some information to start with.

Another link for calculating how much yeast your need.

Yes you can pitch too much yeast. What gravity beer are you planning to pitch on the yeast cake?
