Sustinator Rye Maibock

just got off the pnohe with NB, (great customer service btw), was looking to try this kit as my first lager but the instructions were kind of vague re: diactyl rest and the actual lagering temps. So in talking with the rep, I noticed that the yeast is out of stock anyway (munich lager) and he mentioned that I could possibly brew this as a hybrid with an ale yeast (like a kolsch), does anyone have a suggestion on what yeast they would use to pull this off?

think I’m going to try the cali common yeast…

If you’re set up for lagering and want to try your hand at it, I’d suggest using the WLP833 which is the same strain as the limited edition WY2487 hella bock, but is available year round. That yeast is great at producing wonderful malty german lagers.
I have an active cake of that stuff chompin’ away at all times.

Plus its from the same part of Bawawia…
