Surly Bender Kit - Priming Sugar in oz?

My local homebrew shop sells priming sugar by the pound. I believe it’s dextrose. The Surly Bender recipe calls for 2/3 cup to 16oz of water. I’d like to be more precise to prevent glass grenades. Does anyone know how many oz of priming sugar that is?

Most kits come with 5 oz corn sugar which IIRC is 3/4 cup. So I would go with 4-5 oz per 5 gallons.

Use 5/8 cup of table sugar and save your money. Being off by a little isn’t going to create bottle bombs. Bottles can hold 1.5x the pressure of this amount of priming sugar.
