Stir Plates and Starters

According to Mr. Malty you only need 1 liter when using a stir plate.

OG 1.065, Batch size 5.25gal, Viability 87%, Cells needed 236B, # L’s of starter required with a stir plate - 1.25L.

The difference in the final cell count between the two is projected at about 10%. Just trying to keep things in perspective. :wink:

I hadn’t looked at the viability set up. It was calculating from a date in February the last time I was using it. Telling me it was around 70% viable and to use 2 packs of yeast in a 1 liter starter. Oops. That’s what I get for doing this on my phone while at work.
