Will a growler work with a stir plate, or do I NEED a flask?
They often don’t work because of the curved bottom. Flat bottoms work best like an Erlenmyer flask or cheap glass vase.
Which stirplate will you be using?
I use a one-gallon wine jug and it works fine if I am careful to line things up when I put the starter on the stir plate. I’m sure a nice flask would be ideal, but this is cheap and easy.
