Stir plate explosion question

I made a 1800ML starter w/2 smack packs last night and put it on my stir plate (need 350 bil. cells for my imp. stout). This morning I woke up a nice kruesen explosion all over my table. I managed to lose about 150ml of liquid out of my flask and my concern is that I’ve lost a significant amount of yeast in the process. Brew day is tommorrow so I was thinking about going over to Northern Brewer in the morning and bbuying another smack pack to pitch along with what’s left of my starter. Does this sound like a good game plan? Any thoughts?

You made a starter that is a little less than 1/2 gallon and you lost about 5 ozs? I would not worry about it.

I would have made a 3/4g starter with 1 pack of yeast. I use a 1g apple juice jar for starters.
