Have you ever had a starter blow off? I did for the first time yesterday. It sucked.
As usual, I made a starter of ~9ish brix and pitched my fresh vial of WLP400, set it on the stir plate and walked away. About 14 hours later I checked on it and found a horrible mess.
On the…ummm…“bright” side, my OG ended up lower than planned, so the lost yeast may not be missed all that much.
