Spent grain recipe question

So I see all kinds of recipes for spent grain bread, dog biscuits, etc. One thing I have not been able to find anywhere is if the grains need to be dried out first or if they can go right from mash tun to mixing bowl. Anybody know?

When I’ve made bread with spent grain I just used it wet. I don’t think you’d want to try to dry them out. And if you did I think the recipe would probably specify it.

Yeah, wet. You do want to squeeze out the liquid for dog biscuits. They can take awhile to dry if it’s to wet.
