Smacked My Pack, Have to wait

I smacked the smack pack expecting to make my starter tonight, and something came up, and I can’t make it until tomorrow. I there anything I can do to not ruin the pack? Should I refrigerate it or leave it out? I will be able to continue with making the starter tomorrow evening. This is the only yeast I have, and I can’t get any locally, so I don’t want to waste it.

You can leave it out. It will be fine. In fact, it will probably be more active. I often will smack the night before making a starter.
