Simple recipe tweak - how to figure new OG/FG?

I added one pound of DME to a recipe (went from 4.5 lbs to 5.5 lbs).

How to adjust my expectations for OG and FG?

for a 5 gallon batch, 1lb of dry malt extract will give you 1.009. 5.5lbs will give you 1.048. i use a program called Beersmith, but there are other recipe formulating calculators online. Im sure someone will chime in and give you some math to figure it out on your own. but unfortunately i don’t know the math

Say 1 lb of dme give 44 pts per gallon.
You’ve added it to 5 gallons 44 / 5 = 8.8

Rounded up you’ve added 9 points or 1.009.
