Side diptube vs short diptube

Trying to figure out which diptube I should go with. A side diptube that sits above the stepped bottom vs a short diptube that sits at the bottom of the kettle close to the outside. Looking to reduce the left behind wort without a bunch of excessive trub.

I would use the first one and whirlpool clockwise

My diptube sits on the bottom of my kettle. I bag hops during the boil and whirlpool prior to pumping the wort to fermenters so I don’t worry much about the little trub that makes it into my fermenters.

I put all my hops in a basket whilst brewing… Still I get some trub, but I do figure that in when I set up my brew… I’m transferring some trub, but very small particles and doesn’t clog my pump… Sneezles61

Since we are talking what we do here is my process. Big pot use the angled dip tube with screen. Smaller pot for small batches just pour through a paint strainer

Some trub is beneficial for yeast health. Either tube you go with will need some form of whirlpool.
