Shank Length

Trying to figure out specifics for my keezer build, and came across some info. on the link Chuck recently posted. The recommended length “inside” the fridge or freezer is 6" to keep everything cold? That seems awful long, like it would get in the way. My planned wall thickness (wood & airspace) is about 3 5/8" so the shank would need to be over 10" long. Is that overkill, & how much do you guys have inside? Thanks.

That’s definitely too long and would be a nuisance when you’re trying to move kegs in and out. You really only need enough exposed shank to attach the tailpiece. 1 to 1.5 inches is more than enough for that.
