Scottish liquid yeast

I pitched 10 hours ago Scottish liquid yeast into my beaker filled with a cup of DME. I swirl periodically and still have no active foam. How much longer till I get some active yeast production?

Is this a Wyeast 1728 smack pack? How old was it. There should be a date on the pack. Starters like a reasonably warm environment. On top of your fridge might be a good spot. Also I find starters sometimes don’t make a lot of krauzen so it is possible to miss the fermentation.

Actually at 11 hours it has started the fermentation process. I increased the amount of swirling I had been doing. This made all the difference. Thanks.
