Saving lager yeast

Homebrewers,

I am about to transfer a lager from primary to secondary. I’d like to save the yeast, but won’t be able to brew for another month or so. Can I just scoop out a third or so of the yeast cake into a vessel, top with sterile water and store cold for the next month?

Thanks.

Yep, but you you may want to save more than that depending on the size and gravity of your next batch.

Thanks. I may just save the whole thing then.
