Sanitizing muslin bag for dry hopping

This weekend I plan on brewing an IPA that calls for an oz of hops to be dry hopped. This will be my first time dry hopping. I plan on doing this with a muslin bag. Is it ok to soak my muslin bag in a solution of water and starsan then put it in my secondary while still wet ? Should I totally submerge my bag of hops down into my carboy ?

Sure, but don’t worry too much about it - the beer can handle a few microbes now that it is fermented fully. If you toss in a weight, be sure to sanitize that, too. Or you can use stainless tea balls that are used for steeping tea. Or just toss them in without a bag - they will settle to the bottom with time.

I put the bag in small bowl of water and microwave it for 2-3 min. StarSan is fine, too.

I was told to wait 2 or 3 weeks than dry hop. It tasted great at bottling so we’ll see after carbed.

Similar to Denny’s method I boil up some water and submerge for a few minutes.

Thanks for the help !! Now when a brew suggests dry hopping I’m not as intimidated

Cheers
