Resurrection Recipes

Recently I watched the latest Brewing TV episode (All About Stout) which referenced a blog called Shut Up About Barclay Perkins. I checked it out and ever since I have been on a bit of a kick trying to find recipes from the 18th or 19th century without much luck. Anyone know where I could find some old recipes to resurrect?

You could try contacting some Scottish and Scandinavian breweries since there seems to be a trend of resurrecting gruits and other ancient beer styles.
In my experience though, they act like you’re trying to steal their last piece of bread right from their mouths and don’t share information. For example, I wrote an email to a certain brewery and their reply literally was “Yes you’re right. Information on traditional Norwegian beers is hard to find.” And that’s it…
