I have rust on posts and poppets that I am trying to remove.
I have done a soaks of them in vinegar and baking soda and it has removed a lot, but I can get all of it off the poppet even with a toothbrush.
Any suggestions/products for get the rust out of the crevasses?
I’ve never done it myself, but it seems tha CLR is made for this task.
An electrolysis soak followed by a soak in StarSan.

You can get a small wire brush that looks like a toothbrush. They’ll clean the rust off. Look them up under gun cleaning; or try a hunting supply. You should be able to pick one up for under $5.
I believe you need to find a SS brush or you risk causing more harm?

Correct, and use it only on SS.

I did not know this. What happens?
I was reading about removing rust with Bartender’s Friend since it is an acid based cleaner. Any reason not to try giving a soak in this?
BKF will not hurt them. Soaking may not help them either. Usually BKF is rubbed on SS to clean/shine it.
You are getting to the point of investing more time/money in these than if you would buy replacements.

It can imbed steel particles, causing rust to form. The same can happen when SS is in contact with various forms of steel over a period of time.
Rust can also transfer to aluminum, brass, bronze…
