Can someone tell me if the posts on ball lock kegs are of a standard size? I’m wondering what size deep driver socket would do the trick…
All of mine are 7/8", I just use a 12 pt box end. If you haven’t taken them off they might be pretty tight.
They don’t need to be hammered on. I think some are 13/16", depending on manufacture.
I also use a box wrench, but I have two sizes, 11/16" and 7/8".
Between my brother and I we have over a dozen kegs and I have yet to find a post that doesn’t fit with one of the two wrenches.

Also be aware of the posts like this one (on the left) They can be removed with a 7/8" box end (12 point) don’t be tempted to use vice grips.

Thanks, Scalded Dog – after re-examining my kegs, I see that I have both kinds of posts. Looks like I’ll be asking Santa for another stocking stuffer :cheers:
