Rate of temp raises for Diacetyl rest?

I sorry I don’t know if I ask this already. I know what the Diacetyl rest is my question is when they say to raise the temperature into the 65 to 68 °F do they mean to slowly ramp up to 65f to 68f or go right up to the 65f to 68f an hold for 2 to 3 days

HERES A GOOD READ ON THAT TOPIC. Remember, this rest is most common with lagers due to ale temps already being in this temp range anyways.
