Old Wine carboys for beer secondary?

Hello:

I was just offered a few glass carboys that have been previously used for wine. I currently have one soaking in PBW to see how clean it will get.
Does anyone see any potential harm by using these as a secondary?

Thanks!

Glass is non porous, so a GOOD cleaning should take care of anything left in them, and you’re good to go.
Nice find BTW

The glass seems to have some etching stains. Not sure if those will come out.

If you clean them it should be fine.
Hell…for years I’ve cultured up my brewing yeast in jars that were used for fermenting kimchee (Korean sauerkraut) with no problems at all.
