IHey guys plan on brewing the Off the Topper IPA. The malt extract recipe recommends to use the Vermont Ale Yeast. How important is it to do a yeast starter with this recipe? Thanks!
I would highly reccommend a starter with this yeast. I typically always make a starter with any liquid yeast, even if it comes in a smack pack. This yeast will come in a vial, fresher is always better when possible. A starter will both increase your cell count and get the yeasties warmed up for their main meal.
