Nut Brown Ale hop addition

I recently ordered the nut brown ale after reading reviews of how flexible it is. I was curious for any who have had it, if you have suggestions of what additional hops I could use to give it a little more character and bitterness? Is it dealer’s choice or are there some definite no-no’s?

East kent goldings, willamette, Mt. Hood. I like the herbal/ floral/earthy varieties for nut brown ales.
