No cones on my hops

Planted some feral hops 4 years ago. They grew well, and I harvested a handful the 1st year, 1 qt. the 2nd year, and 2 qts last year. This year, while the vines grew fantastically well(25-30 feet up the side of my house) there are absolutely no cones. I did use some miracle grow and compost this past Spring, and it was a wet summer up here. I’m wondering did I use too much Nitrogen and just got vegetative growth? Or something else? Or are they just old farts and need to be pulled to make room for some fresh rhizomes? Perplexing. Anyone have any ideas?

I’m no expert gardener, but yeah, it might be the nitrogen. Maybe. Not sure. I doubt your plants are so old that they’ve stopped producing. They’ll keep producing for decades.

Thanks Dave. I figured maybe too much nitrogen, but I dunno.
I think I’ll do the biblical thing and give it one more year. If she doesn’t produce next year, then it’s onto the trash heap, and I can plant Cascades and Centennials. I’ve become quite enamored of Biermuncher’ Centennial Blonde from HBT.
