Newbie to brewing

Brewed my first batch. turned out sour. Used a store bought nut brown kit. followed all instructions. any hints to why a sour beer?

Would need to know a little more about the recipe, yeast and your post boil process. If the kit with the recipe is online you can post a link instead of typing it out.

The main culprit for a souring infection is equipment cleaning and sanitation, and preventing contamination during the fermentation and bottling. What do you clean with and which sanitizer do you use.

could be of flav did you pitch your yeast to cold or its to warm in your fermenting area
but proberly due to not enough cleaning your keg or bottles
