New to making hard cider

Hello everybody, I have a question- can you make hard cider from frozen concentrate? and if so, do you need to boil it to sterilize?

Yes, you can use concentrate. Just check the label to make sure there aren’t any preservatives other than ascorbic acid (Vitamin C).

AJC is usually pasteurized … it should state so on the packaging. If it is, you don’t have to boil it. Let it thaw, then sanitize the area around the lid prior to opening it & pour it into your carboy.

You should probably boil the water though. Use a lid and leave it on until it’s cool enough to safely pour into your carboy.

Yes you can,

In fact I used 13 cans of frozen concentrate, one cup white sugar and a packet of yeast with 5 gallons of water into my carboy which gave me ABV of 5.5%
