New Definition of Alcoholism

Just saw a report that the powers that be are proposing new definition for addiction. It will include “spending an extended amount of time trying to obtain alcohol”. I am curious how long is considered “extended” and if that includes fermentation time or just the time from mash to chill.

Or Jimmie Fallon’s definition:

The definition of alcoholism depends on whether you are listening to a Madd lady or a barmaid whose living depends on tips.

Haha! That was funny!

I always hated the popular definition of binge drinking too. Something like more than 2 or 3 drinks in one sitting is consider binge drinking? Chyah! And monkeys might fly out of my butt!

For some people I knew in my youth, that was the definition of breakfast.

But I have to get up to go pour a new beer. so therefore it’s only one per “sitting”…

I am not an alcoholic, alcoholics go to meetings…

Ya me neither, I prefer the term “alcohol enthusiast”

There’s also “functioning alcoholics” which I wager most of us here are.

some even high functioning

Doesn’t an alcoholic have to admit they have a problem with alcohol? I have no problem, I brew it, then a drink it… no problems…
