I brewed NB’s Fixed Gear extract kit during summer 2012. I loved it (in side-by-side comparison with real bottled Fixed Gear, the homebrew was very similar but better!). Since that time, the recipe has been changed slightly, with the Centennial being replaced by Citra for dry-hopping. NB told me the change was made because of hops availability but had Lakefront’s OK.
I know that some people really don’t like Citra. Anyone brewed this kit with the new recipe? Is it still good?
Even better, has anyone made it both before and after the recipe change who can offer a direct comparison?

There in lies the problem. Some will say it better than the other recipe. Some will say it’s worse.
2 options. Make it as it is. Or purchase the hops from the original recipe.
It stinks that the ingredients change like this. If there are a couple of kits you like, it might be wise to order the hops from Hops Direct by the pound. And order the malts/yeast separately.
