My official brew thread

Okay, here it goes.

This is my first attempt making hard cider.

What I started with:

-Two glass gallon jugs of 365 Organic unfiltered apple juice
-Corks, and airlocks
-Hydrometer
-One Gram of ale yeast
-One Gram of Champagne yeast

-11/13/12 –
I tested the original gravity of my cider and it was 1.056 as it stood so I left it at that with no extra sugars added.

As of about a half an hour ago I pitched my yeast (One gram of yeast in each)

I plan on naturally carbonating my cider.

This is really about it so far. I will keep the post updated with photos and such every couple of days and keep you guys up to date on whats going on with the brew.

Let me know if you have any tips or suggestions because I’m a noob.

**update- fermentation has begun and the one with the champagne yeast has foam at the top.

Okay, so I checked on it this morning. Both jugs seem to be fermenting(little bubbles) but the air doesn’t seem to be coming through my airlock. Anyone else ever experience this?
