Quick question - i’ve been toying with the pitching calculator at mrmalty.com; with my chosen parameters, is the 3.44 L saying that i should pitch 1 vial (or smack pack) of yeast into 3.44 L of starter wort? In other words, if i have a large enough flask, I don’t need to ‘step up’ the yeast starter correct?
That’s correct. If you look right above that it ibdicates that you only need 1 packet of yeast with your starter.
