Anyone have trouble with moldy taps? My kegerator is in my basement and the taps get sweaty. I gave them a closer look today and they had mold all over them/ in them. I spray sanitizer up the tap after every use to keep it from sticking. Anyways… I disassembled and cleaned everything. Any suggestions to prevent this from happening again?
I don’t have a solution necessarily but they make faucet caps for 50 cents a pop. I wonder if using them would help keep whatever is floating around your basement off the taps. Also, make sure to use a faucet brush when cleaning it to make sure you get all of the gunk off.
Get something to cover the taps with when you are not using them. Like a shower cap or small plastic bag
