I am considering using mint extract for a mint chocolat stout. Has anyone tryed it? Ingredients on bottle say 100 percent mint, but it is an oil. Will it affect head retention negatively?
No problems that I’ve encountered with peppermint extract (peppermint chocolate stout). I use 1 tsp in 5 gallons at kegging.

The oils could affect head retention. Always a possibility. Check to see if you can find out what percentage of the solution is oil.
You also might want to look into using mint leaves…dried or fresh…as an option as well.
