OK, so I brewed an all grain rye ale 5 weeks ago. I recently kegged it and carbonated it. I tasted it today and there is a metallic taste. I know I fermented too warm. It was before I got my freezer and it fermented in ambient of 68 ish. I have a megapot. Stainless. There is no other metal in the process, other than the keg. What could cause that flavor? Could it have been the too warm ferment?
If you have had no problems previously with the water you brew with, it may be a young beer to give that taste, or a young beer with to much carbonation. Let a small glass of the beer go flat to see if the taste is still there.
Oxidation can give beer a metallic taste.
