Just racked my Imperial Red Ale to secondary…so far it,s fermented from 1.097 to 1.017 so its close to being done…But i,m probly 1/2 gallon off of 5 gallons…Would it be ok to top off with distilled water? Thanks in advance Tank :cheers:
Unfortunately a 5 gallon batch with the yeast and turb when you rack a little beer is left behind in your case half a gallon. If you add distilled water you will water down your beer. It’s normal for a little to be left behind. Nothing to worry about and no need to add water.
