Measuring PBW

How much PBW should I mix into solution to soak my 6-gallon glass carboy?

For soaking I think it says 3/4 oz per gallon.

Somewhere I read, and use 1.5 - 3.0 tablespoons per gallon. I just mixed some yesterday to clean a 6.5 gallon carboy. I mix 4 gallons worth and add it to the carboy. I let it sit for 24 hours after which I place a bung in the top, cover with a small plastic bag, secure the bag with a rubber band then turn it upside down and place it in a carboy dryer for another 24 hours to clean the other half.

Typically I use 1 Tablespoon per gallon with pretty good results

A tablespoon (or more) per gallon is a lot more than I use: 1-2 tablespoons per five gallons for soaking kegs and buckets and they come out squeeky clean.

Yeah, same here. Using an oz. per gal. is just overkill. Same with Oxiclean…2 Tbsp. per 5-6 gal. is plenty.

1 tsp per gallon of hot water (2 Tbsp/6 gallons) works quite well for fermenters. I’ll also put a couple of gallons at this concentration in my bottling bucket and run it through my autosiphon, bottling wand and tubing, then let it sit for 30-60 minutes before running clean hot water through to rinse. Works like a charm.

Same here, I just throw in half to a full scoop and fill it too the brim. I recently made my own PBW though, it’s much cheaper, and just as effective. Basically it’s a 70/30 mix of oxiclean and TSP/90.
